Within the World Changers Cohort (WCC) program, our goal was to prepare Gen Z students for leadership roles at Urbana 22, a prominent student conference. I led efforts to alleviate anxiety and equip students with the necessary skills to lead small groups and extend invitations to faith.
Gen Z students often face apprehension when tasked with leading small groups and extending invitations to faith at large conferences like Urbana. Our challenge was to build their confidence and empower them for effective leadership.
We developed a comprehensive training curriculum delivered through the Ministry Playbook, addressing common challenges faced by Gen Z leaders. The curriculum focused on providing practical tools, resources, and support to navigate small group leadership and invitation practices. Testimonials from participants underscored the positive impact of the training in reducing anxiety and increasing confidence.
This initiative highlighted the importance of addressing Gen Z's concerns and equipping them with practical skills for leadership roles at large conferences. The insights gleaned from the focus group informed our approach to designing the Urbana 22 experience, ensuring it resonated with student leaders.
